Spate of Nelson dairy robberies continues after armed raid on Victory store
A shotgun is believed to have been involved in the aggravated robbery of a Nelson dairy, the latest incident in a series of attacks on the region's retailers in recent weeks .
Workers from the Victory Discounter store on Toi Toi St are recovering after the shop was targeted by three men just before 9pm on Sunday.
A stolen white Audi SUV was seen parked out the front of the shop before the incident occurred.
Victory Discount manager Darshini Chauhan said a staff member was working alone in the store when he saw the white vehicle park outside about 8.50pm.

She said the occupants of the car took some time to exit the vehicle so after serving a customer the worker continued his business.
"No one came so he just went to get some stock. While he went there, they came."
When the doorbell rang, he came back into the shop but was confronted with a disguised man, believed to be holding a shotgun.
He ordered the store worker to empty the till at "gunpoint". "They were not allowing him [the store worker] to look at them," Chauhan said.
"They made him empty the till first and then they just made him sit down, pointing the gun at him."
Another disguised man was already behind the counter emptying the tobacco and cigarette cabinet.
"The driver was in the car. He was just waiting," Chauhan said.
Chauhan's employee has taken the day off work. "He's OK. He didn't get hurt".
Chauhan said the aggravated robbery was concerning.
"There's no safety at all for all dairy people. It's so hard to find the staff to work. In a month and a half this is the fifth dairy targeted, it's like one every weekend."
The store's owner is overseas but was contacted by Chauhan following the incident.
Police visited the store on Monday morning.
A police spokesperson said Nelson police were investigating the aggravated robbery which was believed to have involved a firearm.
The spokesperson said the contents of the till and an amount of cigarettes was taken from the store.
Anyone with information in relation to the incident or sightings of the described vehicle has been asked to contact Nelson Police on 03 546 3840 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
