Colin Munro carves up Guyana to lead Trinbago to CPL win
Black Caps batsman Colin Munro has set the Caribbean Premier League alight as he bludgeoned his side to victory with a man-of-the-match performance.
The left-hander smashed an unbeaten 70 from 47 balls to lead the Trinbago Knight Riders to a seven-wicket win over the Guyana Amazon Warriors with an over to spare on Friday (Saturday NZ time).
He got underway early after Brendon McCullum was caught first ball as the Knight Riders set out to chase down the Amazon Warriors' 156-7 off their 20 overs.
But Munro, who has been in good form, planted the front foot to regularly clear the boundary, blasting five fours and five sixes in his innings.
Munro got good support from Denesh Ramdin, who chimed in with 43 from 23 balls.
Earlier, Black Caps opener Martin Guptill got Guyana off to a good start with a quickfire 24 from 14 balls, with two sixes and two fours.
It's the Knight Riders third win from four matches.
