Mark Hunt to feature in Sydney UFC fight night
Kiwi UFC fighter Mark Hunt will star in the main event of the UFC fight night in Sydney in his fight against Poland's Marcin Tybura.
According to MMAjunkie "multiple UFC officials" have confirmed the fight and a formal announcement is expected early next week.
The event will reportedly take place on November 19 at the Qudos Bank Arena, only the 11th time the UFC has headed to Australia. The Sydney-based hunt will have the home advantage as well as a rank, placed 6th overall compared with Tybura on number 10.
Hunt (13-11-1 MMA, 8-5-1 UFC) earned earned a fourth-round TKO over Derrick Lewis in June at UFC fight night in Auckland, which he also considered a home match.
Hunt has three fights remaining on his UFC contract so the 43-year-old has no plans to retire.
"Anybody above me is good," Hunt said of who he wanted to face next.
"I stepped down for Derrick because he was No. 6, but anyone above me, I'll take. I've only got a few more fights left, so for me, if it ended here tonight, so be it. I've had a good run. I've had a lot of fun, travelled the world. But it looks like it's still continuing."
Tybura's record (16-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) was less impressive.
