Dexter Dunn and Mark Purdon to represent New Zealand in World Champs
Reigning champion Dexter Dunn and fellow Kiwi Mark Purdon will contest the opening heats of the World Driving Championship on Sunday afternoon (NZT).
The Kiwi duo will be joined by nine other drivers from around the globe at the Century Downs in Balzac, Canada for the Saturday evening meeting.
As the defending champion, Dunn will represent the International Trotting Association with Purdon representing New Zealand.
Dunn will wear silks designed by nine-year-old Zoey Marshall from Ohoka. She won a nationwide competition to design racing silks for Dunn to wear at the championship.

Purdon will wear black and white silks with a silver fern on the chest.
Five heats of the championship will be held on the opening day of competition.
The drivers will then head to Ontario for the next two days of heats at Mohawk Racetrack on August 14 and Georgian Downs in Innisfil on August 15.
The final day of competition will be held on August 18.
Meanwhile, initial nominations for the 2017 Christchurch Casino New Zealand Trotting Cup close on Wednesday (August 16) at 3pm.
The cutoff is the same deadline for the Haras des Trotteurs Dominion Trot and Graphite Developments Ltd Show Day Futurity Series nominations.
