Tree fire threatening nearby pine put out after hour and a half

Six fire units attended a Brixton fire on Sunday night.
Taranaki firefighters spent close to an hour and a half extinguishing a tree fire on Sunday night.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson said they arrived at the 40 by 30-metre fire on the corner of Raleigh and Johnston St, Brixton, north of New Plymouth at 7.31pm and left at 8.58pm.
The fire was heading towards standing pine, the spokesperson said.
Two fire engines from Waitara attended and four from the rural unit.
