Burst water main creates sinkhole, floods part of Christchurch street
Part of a Christchurch street was under water for more than an hour on Monday afternoon.
A Fire Service spokesman said a burst water main created a sinkhole in Westminster St in St Albans.
A street resident said the flood started around 3.30pm.
Christchurch City Council contractors came after 5pm and turned the water off.
A Christchurch Transport Operations Centre (CTOC) spokesman said City Care had not received any reports of water-main issues in the area, as of 5pm.
