Harewood have secured the minor premierships of both the men and women's Canterbury Hockey League competitions leading in to semi finals next weekend.

After the fourteenth and final round of the competitions both Harewood teams finished top of the points table, securing the President's Shield (men) and the Rose Bowl (women) trophies.

With Carlton Redcliffs picking up three points earlier in the day against Avon, the Harewood men had to win outright against HSOB in the late game out at the Waimakariri Turf.

Harewood scored two early goals through Garren Fyfe and Matt Ling to give them a buffer heading into the break.

After halftime Tom Leov pegged one back for Old Boys with a well-executed drag flick from a penalty corner.

Club stalwart Richard Bain scored Harewood's third, putting the match to bed and securing the President's Shield for the 2017 season.

The Harewood women dominated their competition from round one. They were undefeated leading into the weekend, with two draws being the only blemishes on their so far perfect season.

They already had the Rose Bowl won before their final match sitting six points clear of HSOB in second.

However they ended up losing their final round robin match of the season 3-2 to HSOB-Burnside. Black Stick Rachel McCann grabbed a brace for HSOB-Burnside and Sian Fremaux also netted with Libby Collings and Jessie Anderson striking for Harewood.
