Baby born on flight gets free tickets for life
Being born on board a flight from Saudi Arabia to India will get to travel free on the airline for life.
A Jet Airways plane had to make an unexpected landing when a woman went into labour while it was about 35,000 feet in the air,
A paramedic who was a passenger on the plane and flight crew members helped deliver the boy when he was born prematurely Sunday, CNN reported.
The plane stopped at Mumbai to let the mother and baby off, so they could be taken to a hospital.
Both mother and child were doing well in hospital, according to a Jet Airways spokeswoman.
The woman, in her 20s, was not identified, nor was the nationality of the boy.
According to CNN, a US news outlet, a child born on a plane results in a passport with the line "holder born on an aeroplane".
It doesn't automatically guarantee free travel.
However, the baby boy born on the Jet Airways plane will have plenty of travel options - the airline flies to 65 domestic and international destinations.
