Watch: Impressive contrails left by a Boeing 787 over Russia

A Dreamliner passed underneath another plane 33,000-feet over Russia, leaving a massive vapour trail in its wake.

A video has emerged of long contrails left by a Boeing 787 flying over the east coast of Russia.

Contrails are created when water vapour condenses and freezes around small particles that exist in aircraft exhaust.

Conspiracy theories exist around contrails, with some people believing that some vapour trails left by aircraft are the result of biological or chemical agents deliberately dispersed at high altitudes, supposedly as part of clandestine government initiatives to control global population or manipulate weather patterns.

This theory is rejected by the scientific community, which states that they are just normal contrails, and there is no credible scientific evidence to suggest otherwise.

In 2013 Nelson Mail readers contacted the newspaper to report unusual, so-called 'chemtrails' in the sky which turned out to be jet streams from flights.
