US resort offers 4.5kg doughnut room service package video

We all like to indulge in a spot of hotel room service when we go on holiday, but the J.W. Marriott Desert Springs Resort might have raised the bar in the sweetest way possible.

The California resort's latest creation is a 10 pound (4.5kg) glazed doughnut that is filled with raspberry jelly and comes complete with pink frosting.

Basically, this dessert would get Homer Simpson's heartbeat racing to a dangerously high level.

It's hard not to think of the calories when you cast your eyes upon the Marriott's 10-pound doughnut.

It's hard not to think of the calories when you cast your eyes upon the Marriott's 10-pound doughnut.

Guests who opt into the deal will receive a 'donut disturb' doorknob hanger upon check-in. When the sugar craving kicks in, simply hang it on your door and the hotel chefs will get down to business on whipping up your monstrous desert that measures three feet wide and one foot tall.

And if that doesn't satisfy you, the doughnut is delivered to your room complete with a set of milkshakes on the side.

The deal starts from US$219 dollars (NZ$300) a night (including the room) and comes with a $50 resort credit that can be used on spa treatments, restaurant dining, or a round of golf.

The J.W. Marriott is running the deal through until April 2018.
