Tree removal to close Hamilton street for a day
Two trees in central Hamilton will be removed by a small crane on Monday.
The two robinia trees are on top of a retaining wall above Hillsborough Terrace, are in poor condition, and could pose a risk to road users below, a Hamilton City Council statement said.
The terrace will be closed to traffic on Monday, October 16, from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
Traffic will be diverted up Radnor Street to Anglesea Street, and will not be able to access Cobham Drive.
This is because a small crane will be put on Hillsborough Terrace and used to remove the trees, which are about 10 metres high.
